Q&A 016 — Gambling

I don’t gamble to get rich.
I gamble to feel something.

The tension.
The focus.
The moment where everything narrows.

I know it’s irrational.
I know the odds.

But still, it pulls me in.

What would an ossan think about gambling?

Ossan’s answer

An ossan understands this urge.

Gambling is not about money.
It’s about certainty—
even if it lasts only a moment.

When you gamble,
the world becomes simple.

Win or lose.
Now or never.

No gray area.

An ossan knows why this is dangerous.

Life is slow.
Results are delayed.
Responsibility is constant.

Gambling offers relief
from all of that.

But relief is not rest.

An ossan doesn’t judge gambling.
He watches why he does it.

If it’s to enjoy risk,
he limits it.

If it’s to escape thought,
he stops.

Because the real loss
is not money.

It’s when you start using chance
to avoid choice.

An ossan learns this late:

Risk should sharpen life,
not replace it.
